What is THCa Hemp?
What Is THCA Hemp?
THCA stands for tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, a compound naturally found in raw cannabis and hemp plants. Think of it as THC’s “precursor”—it’s present in fresh plants before any heat or processing occurs. When cannabis is exposed to heat through smoking, vaping, or cooking, THCA transforms into THC in a process called decarboxylation.
Is there different types of BHO extracts?
Yes! One of the most intriguing aspects of extracting with BHO lies in the wide variety of extract types it encompasses. Each form possesses distinct consistencies and visual characteristics, which, in turn, influence its method of use, storage, and flavor profile. The 4 main categories of BHO extracted cannabis concentrates include: Badder, Shatter, Crumble, and Sauce.
What is the BHO extraction process?
The process of making BHO begins by packing cannabis into a tube or container, followed by purging the oxygen to prevent any chemical reactions. Chilled butane is then pushed through the plant material to extract the trichomes, which contain the cannabinoids. Heat is applied to turn the butane into vapor, and the trichomes are collected. The vaporized butane is captured and removed, leaving behind the cannabis extract. It can then further be processed to achieve desired consistency.
